Monastyr Zoslania sv. Ducha

Krásny Brod
Nature

The sending of the Holy Spirit in Krásný Brod is one of the oldest and most important monasteries (monasteries - a monastery of monks of the Eastern Rite) and places of indulgence in Slovakia. However, its beginnings are shrouded in mystery, legends and hypotheses (Cyril and Methodius tradition, the beginnings of the monastery in the 14th century, the miraculous healing of the blind beggar). The monastery was destroyed three times. The Pokrova Chapel, in which the wonder-shaped icon of the Blessed Virgin has been placed since time immemorial in a Baroque hammered silver cover, was rebuilt into its current form in 1759. The ruins of the Basilian monastery, the original chapel of the monastery, the Greek Catholic church and the manor house with a park are registered in the register of immovable national cultural monuments from Krásný Brod.
